good map, thanks, makes clear the UK is really windy (and so much more than Spain!). At windy periods like right now I even still think that getting a microturbine might just be worth it...

its just like the worst sort of crushing disapointment to see the promise of large scale UK onshore wind power not really coming to fruition. I was the only speaker in favour of our local wind turbines being upgraded at a recent planning meeting, its was rejected by all except one vote in favour. Now it seems likely that even the current medium sized turbines won't be replaced as larger turbines are the current trend. It seems that every corner of the land has a special landscape that needs protecting...Hmph!

Ah yes, he could be a sort of "Anti-Quixote", by NOT launching personal attacks against windmills! But there's a lot of coastline to cover. We'll have to do a fund-raiser to keep him well supplied in good wine and carajillos if he's to take on the whole of the Costa Geriatrica!
