The UK could soon be home to the largest biomass plant in the world after permission was given to begin transforming a coal-powered plant to run on wood fuel.
According to the Thurrock Gazette, the RWE N Power Station in Tilbury could be running entirely on wood pellet biomass by the end of 2011.
At 750MW, it would have close to three times the capacity of the current largest biomass power station, the Alholmens Kraft Power Station in Finland.

It says the price of wood in the UK has gone up in response BUT it doesn't actually say the plant itself will be using UK wood? And it's near docks I trow. Well I hope whatever they do use, doesn't have to travel far. _________________ Soyez réaliste. Demandez l’impossible.
