General Electric is developing a new turbine blade design using architectural fabric that it says could significantly reduce construction and assembly costs compared with fiberglass, and put wind energy on an equal economic footing with fossil fuels.

I don't think fabric = cloth.

Edit: having read the article AFTER posting, it looks like it could indeed be a type of cloth!

Well I guess its not the sort of cloth you'd want for you knickers, but it could well make very large turbines possible.

Kind of reminds me of the early canvas-over-spaceframe structure of aircraft. Can't think why it hasn't been thought about before. Sounds like a cliche for some kind of "green/eco" activity - "Weave Your Own Wind Turbine". Smile
