I spoke to Professor MacKay (of the Cavendish Laboratory, Cambridge)
yesterday about sustainable energy. He is writing a book on
what sustainability really means for the UK, and it's draft is here.

Warning: large pdf file
He hopes to complete it in a month or two, and get it published by a
mainstream publisher. He hopes to do 'Stephen Hawking' and get
the message out to a wide public. I wish him luck, but with a
book stuffed with numbers and equations, luck is what he will need.
It is a bit of a cheek to ask for a review of a book not yet published,
but I think David would wlecome honest criticism of it, and I think we
could add some pointers to the true situation of the current UK
energy supplies, as his focus has been on where we need to get to, more
than how we get there.
EDIT: Broken link now fixed I hope

I'm more that happy to have a look... but that link isn't working!
