Here we go. Predictions of a pandemic and statements about antibiotic resistance. I seem to remember similar about ebola. Where is ebola now? The modern treatments are responsible for more of the problems than cures.

Poor sanitation and poor nourishment is the biggest killer.

Ebola is a virus, nothing antibiotics are involved with. Plague is bacterial.

You’re quite right. I wasn’t clear in my post, I was comparing the statements of pandemics, and shouldn’t have included antibiotics in the same sentence. Thanks for the correction.

If I remember rightly there's also a viral version of the Plague. Or there was, in 1347.

(Disclaimer: I'm not that old!)

So far as I am aware, there are three version of the plague:

The most common form of plague is bubonic plague. It’s usually contracted when an infected rodent or flea bites you. In very rare cases, you can get the bacteria from material that has come into contact with an infected person. Bubonic plague infects your lymphatic system (the immune system), causing inflammation. Untreated, it can move into the blood and cause septicemic plague, or to the lungs, causing pneumonic plague.

Sufficient vitamin C will fix it. If you go to the doctor/hospital/NHS you are doomed. If they use vitamin C at all (highly unlikely) it is probable the dose will be inadequate. But what do I know? Better trust the pharmaceutical rep, who gets comission on sales no doubt, to give impartial advice.

I'm interested in objective, falsifiable evidence. So, if you have any to present in support of your assertion, I am interested.

One source is provided by Suzanne Humphries who has a website drsuzanne.net. Another source is Stephanie Seneff. There are those who try to ridicule both of them, but they both have references to support their positions. You will be able to find other rsearchers. One book to start is “The Healing Factor - Vitamin C Against Disease” by Irwin Stone.

Background and a lot of jumping off points in the Wikipedia article:

There is a problem with Wikipaedia in that there is no control over the editing. Since students are disqualified if they use wiki sourced material in their work, it should indicate it is not to be trusted. There are several references to effects of vitamin c that look to be flawed. So I suggest you use something other than wiki.

Speaking as a chemistry graduate who worked on the human genome project ( in other words scientifically literate but not a specialist) I am very doubtful about the claims for vitamin c which date back to the days of Linus Pauling. It has its uses, primarily as an anti oxidant, which something anybody on a western diet could use more of,. But the human body is immensely complex, and infinitely variable. No one biological .molecule could be a 'cure' for an infectious disease like plague,. Which itself is constantly evolving. It probably impacts on many biochemical pathways , as for example aspirin does, and probably has more advantages than drawbacks for most people most of the time, but no molecule is without drawbacks in extreme excess. To use it whilst rejecting conventional medicine for something like plague is to face a very high probability of an early death.

I agree, whilst less knowledgeable than yourself, I agree with your conclusions.
I am not a chemistry graduate, but I did achieve an "A" level, with distinction, in Chemistry.
