I heard on the world service last night Nick Griffin saying he wants to sink the boats of illegal immigrants as they come across the Mediteranian.
When confronted that this would be murder, he said we could throw them some life belts.

Sorry, I was 0.2% out.

Anyway 5%, 10% or whatever .. these are non-trivial numbers.

Agreed. Even one idiot voting for those mindless thugs is one too many.

Reminds me of that old NF joke. If the BNP is the answer it must have been a bloody stupid question.

Wasn't there a contentious mainstream drama some years back showing NATO troops about to do just that .... i.e. Europe had reached breaking point and so a major unit of troops were about to open fire on a huge flotilla of illegals about to land in Spain or France?

It's not just the BNP ....

No, never heard of that. Do you have more details about it Vortex, like what it was called?

But that aside, you are wrong. It is just the BNP. What you supposedly described was a work of dramatic fiction not the thoughts of someone aiming for political power.

Interestingly, La Lega Nord, the xenophobic party from the northern Italian regions has, as one of their policies, the use of the navy in repelling boats of immigrants crossing the Med.

They've just done really well in the regional elections and are now going from a position of being a minor player in the Berlusconi coalition to being an equal partner.

It was an episode of Spooks a few years ago. Message for Jonny - Spooks is not, I repeat, not a documentary.

BNP are the most environmental party. When a migrant moves from a poor country to a rich country they use many more resources. They are one of the few parties that both acknowledge peak oil and avoid the current path to national suicide so they will be getting my vote.

The only arguments that I have seen used against the BNP are very similar to these:

That is just utter shite. I used to average 2,000 miles a week in air travel, and 30,000 miles a year by car. Now I live pretty much a carbon neutral life - just over 300kwh/year in electricity and €10/week on fuel. The change happened when I immigrated. I moved from the UK to Italy, which in terms of GDP per capita is a move from a poorer country to a richer one.
