I've been asked to build a cob oven next Tuesday for an allotment in Manchester for a BBC program. I'll be driving up on Monday and would be at a loose end on Monday evening. Anyone available to meet up for a drink? Don't know where I'm staying yet, but I'll have transport so can travel.

It's to do with someone who grows tomatoes. They want to see his tomatoes growing, cook them and eat them in a pizza cooked in a clay oven. They wanted to make the clay oven on the day until I told them that the oven needs a week to dry our before it's used.

Sorry folks. I've just been told that the program is off because the contributor's wife has, unfortunately, died, so I won't be in Manchester next week. They had also just realised that most English tomatoes aren't ripe at this time of year and as tomatoes are a centre point of the program they were going to postpone it anyway.
