All,

I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much a power station is paying for waste wood chips grade A (wood from shredded pallets or wood boxes, free of nails and other solids, without chemicals or any other contaminants), ie waste biomass to be used as fuel for energy?

I know there are variations across the UK but I heard it was around 40 per tonne (at the station).

Any inputs are mostly welcome.

Don't have a response, except 'welcome', biomasstft.

I'd like to see more waste wood being turned into woodchip. There's not actually much (any?) 'spare' wood for biomass - everything that's burned could have been used for something else, that is then imported instead. I acknowledge we're doing this with our own woodland.

Welcome Biomasstft!

I've emailed TV Energy, who arrange some of the supply to Slough Heat and Power, to ask them what they pay/are payed. I'll let you know as soon as I receive a reply.
