Quote: | Glaciers in the French Alps have lost a quarter of their area in the past 40 years, according to new research. In the late 1960s/early 1970s, the ice fields slipping down Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains of the European range covered some 375 sq km. By the late 2000s, this area had fallen to about 275 sq km. |

Back in 1959 my parents had a holiday in Switzerland and stayed at a hotel where the glacier was literally outside the window. In 2009 my sister stayed in the same hotel in the same month (May) and the glacier is now 10km away! I'll try and find the hotel name. Amazing that scientists have just noticed _________________ Scarcity is the new black |

An Inspector Calls will be along in a minute to remind us that temperatures haven't risen since 1998. |

Generic scientist bashing just happens to be a pet hate of mine!
Mind you nothing like good clear anecdotal evidence and photos for getting a message across. |
