Sounds an interesting idea.
An IT firm install in peoples homes a server, as part of a network of remote servers.

Several hundred pounds is payable for installation, but after that the heat is free. Not really a doom prep as it is reliant on electricity and on BAU, but sounds an attractive way of heating a small or well insulated home.

My main concern would be unwanted heat output in hot weather, this is claimed to be overcome by a fan vented to the outside, but I suspect that the case still gets warm.
