Yes, the folly of committing huge amounts of fossil energy to building massive infrastructure - only to have no equivalent energy to maintain it. Bring back the Romans, they built stuff to last!

Entropy never sleeps.

One day all the major dams in the world will follow suit. We will not have enough spare energy to repair them. Ditto nuclear waste repositories.

Hopefully we will be wise enough to drain the reservoirs before collapse, but history suggests that the as we will never voluntarily power down, and suffer catastrophic failure as a result.
