Pride comes before a fall. How naive can you get?

"Any faint hopes that the Chinese might invest in the Pelamis project proved fruitless however. Three years later, in November 2014, Pelamis went into administration, having run out of funding after 17 years developing the project at a cost of £95m."

By any standards a project still at the R+D stage after 17 years is taking the piss. It will be interesting to see how many more years it takes the Chinese to produce an economic production device with a sensible EROI and achieve a reasonable MTBF in a hostile marine environment, if ever........

According to The Scotsman most of the money lost came from Scottish Enterprise who seem to have a track record for "losing" tax payers money. One comment on the article said "More taxpayers money down the black hole of the renewables industry. Charlatans the whole lot of them."
