Anyone here from Sheffield?
If yes, what can we do to get the council interested in the Peak Oil issue? |

Yes and the subject of the council just came up on the new Transition Sheffield Forum.
| Quote: | Nether Edge Focus is a Lib Dem council news sheet. The latest issue arrived yesterday with findings from a recent survey they've done. This said:
The survey results are being collated and analysed but it already
clear that people are very concerned about the rising cost of food,
energy and fuel.
Paul Scriven said "These surveys are vital, as they tell me what
the people of Nether Edge are thinking, and it helps me prioritise
my campaigning. We will be pressing to make sure that hard working
families are not hit by rising costs...
Don't know if the same is true elsewhere in the city but it's probably so.
However it struck me that now might be a good time to make the council aware of Transition Sheffield, possibly talk to them about peak oil, etc.

Transition Sheffield has just finished a series of film showings and hope to show more in the new year.
There's an announcements list and discussion list too.

Also several Sheffielders are going to the Transition Cities conference in Nottingham next week. |
