Not exactly Lancaster but I'm from Preston if that's any good? We Lancastrians aren't very well represented so it seems. _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Great, although we seem to have lost Lancaster Lad somewhere.
What's the collective term for Peak Oilers? A worry of Peak Oilers? I'll have to give that one some thought... _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Drove past you today then in our nasty motor car. Went out in Manchester last night for a friend's birthday. _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

I wasn't home, after having to ride my bike up the M40 after the shooting I had to go chill out some at a friend's house.
Where did you go in Manchester? _________________ amat victoria curam |

Not good about the shooting. Had you been at the bikers thing too?
Started at Kro Bar in Piccadilly then over to Via Fossa on Canal Street. Had a great night as haven't been out in Manc for ages & was great to see my mates. I managed not to start preaching about PO. _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

What's your fave Manchester venue?
I would drag you over to Bury but not very handy for Haggis et al really. Manchester city centre is probably the best place to meet. _________________ Andy Hunt

Manchester city centre's a bit of an expensive night tho.
I like loads of the bars there, and I quite enjoy the bars in Canal Street although I've not been there often, usually getting dragged along on nights out. I don't know the area that well, not being from Manc, so I tend to follow where the others lead... Chorlton also has some good bars. _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Hello Lancaster Lad.
Australia - think of your carbon footprint!
Do you fancy meeting up with us other PO Northerners in Manchester? Look at the other thread on the go.

Eternal - I won the flights and a weeks accomodation. We had a further three weeks there which we paid for. Had that not been the case I doubt I'd have been able to afford to go.
Whilst there I was impressed by the way those in the countryside are starting to store water both in dams and storage tanks.
What I wasn't impressed with was the poor thermal quality of the house construction - paper thin walls with no insulation. Where we stayed the first week, when it got cold at night we were told "oh, just stick the electric fire on"
If the home had some thermal mass and insulation they'd be able to keep them cooler by day and warmer by night. It was a real eye opener. _________________ Lancaster Lad
