Thanks, Tess, and well done Sally.

Now I sit back and watch the numbers rise...

As for soup runs, I'm good at making the stuff. Just as well, we may be eating a lot of it.

I have live prices at the office. You have to pay I'm afraid. There are plenty of free websites with slightly delayed prices though.

Ah okay I understand.... Oil-price.net is good enough for me... it does pretty graphs too.

I like the graph on the wiki page you linked. Kinda put the changes in longterm perspective nicely.

It's been fascinating, thank you Tess for giving us the window into it.

Now to see how fast the BBC catches up with the news...

More digging tomorrow, I feel. Must plant things. Must sell on ebay. Must get the parlour clear for the new stove!

Figures also showed a sharp decrease in US crude stockpiles last week.

Why? Greater withdrawals or less going in? How much of this can be attributed to the reduced exports from Mexico during Dean?

http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/oog/info/twip/twip_crude.html

Crude stocks are dropping - but in the US , stocks are still above the 5 year average range?

I also thought we are at "peak refining", if another 5mpd of oil came online tomorrow - is there anywhere to refine it?

Gasoline is below the 5 year average - so why isnt gasoline $5 a barrel in the states wtih oil at $60?

Strange...
