You would get a train to Manchester Piccadilly and then the Metrolink tram direct to Bury. The tram platform is in the basement of the train station so it's DEAD EASY!
Would be great if you can make it . . . _________________ Andy Hunt

We're coming by tram so I hope it's not too difficult.
Wow, it'll be great to meet you. _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Just one week. I can almost taste the beer.
It'll come at a good time to give me some time off from my course work. (Currently should be writing my essay on sustainable urbanism instead of browsing Powerswitch forum ) _________________ Set The Fire To The Third Bar

Given that Bury appears to have an excellent public transport system you could always say that you're carrying out research as indeed I did, for an essay about flood-resilient buildings, by visiting the King's Arms (famous waterproof pub in York)! _________________ Soyez réaliste. I'll also be coming along..... my first ever trip on the MetroLink - I get to practice the future - cool!
7.30pm, Saturday 8th, the Trackside (that's a little aide-memoire for me)
See you Saturday!
Cheers Chris |

Erm good question - it does it at lunchtime, don't think it does it at tea-time though.
There's a good Italian just across the road though, very nice food at very reasonable prices. Or there's "Dixy Chicken" (Kentucky type thing) very close by too (always open and gets more tempting the more beer you've consumed).
Or there's Nobby's Nuts to nibble. _________________ Andy Hunt

I am trying to think of an 'artefact' I can bring along to put on the table, to signify 'doomers' corner' . . . _________________ Andy Hunt

Looking forward to seeing those I've met before again, and maybe one or two new faces. And not forgetting that lovely ale that is supplied in a large re-usable container and consumed in a smaller re-usable container by generally intelligient and beautiful people, I could well be the exception though...
As for an artefact, how about just having a half full glass (half empty?), of a nice dark ale, thus signifying to some extent the nature of our meeting, and then you can always drink the rest rather than carry it home again! |
