PowerSwitchers,

As you all know, there is an intimate relationship between Light and Carbon Energy.

And as you all know, there have been various events which call for self-restraint, for a switching off, a turning out, a hitting of the OFF button.

The rationing of Carbon Energy is never far from the thoughts of Climate Change campaigners, as what follows shows.

There is a very serious side to Carbon Control : we could face BLACKOUTs involuntary if we do not adopt Carbon Energy Quotas :-

BLACKOUT INTERNATIONAL : A GLOBAL CALL TO INACTION

21st March 2008
FAIR CARBON SHARES
LIVE WITHIN YOUR CARBON QUOTA FOR ONE DAY OF 24 HOURS
http://www.blackoutbritain.org.uk/html/blackout_world_2008.html

29th March 2008
EARTH HOUR : BLACKOUT THE LIGHTS FOR 60 MINUTES AT 8PM (20:00)
http://www.earthhour.org

WARNING : You now have officially less than a fortnight to prepare for the
FAIR CARBON SHARES BLACKOUT on Friday 21st March 2008.

You will inevitably be doing less of the things you normally do on these dates.
Treasure the inaction, the laziness, the ramping down of stress, the slower
pace of living.

BLACKOUT WITH US...

...BECAUSE we need to reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions by more than
80% by 2050 or face the possibility of catastrophic Climate Change.

...BECAUSE it's a good idea to cut your Carbon Emissions before legislation
cuts them for you.

...BECAUSE we want to prevent BLACKOUTs being used as a form of
collective punishment or social control.

...BECAUSE we want a stable power supply from renewable and sustainable
sources.

...BECAUSE you want to rest awhile from the nervous energy of economic
productivity that pumps so much toxic gas into the air.

...BECAUSE more than your Fair Share of Carbon is pollution.

...BECAUSE the changing weather is teaching us exactly how much damage
Climate Change can do.

...BECAUSE we support free Carbon Allowances for those in fuel poverty.

...BECAUSE we want to call for massive green energy investment.

...BECAUSE we want to celebrate that Carbon finally has a rising value.

...BECAUSE we believe in the human right of equal access to Energy.

...BECAUSE we want to keep the lights on.

For Christians in Britain, 21st March 2008 is Good Friday, a special Day of
Holy Darkness, and can be made part of their Lenten Carbon Fast :-

We would like to encourage people of all faiths in all countries to Switch to
Green Power. In the United Kingdom, this can be done very simply :-

Leave behind the Heart of Carbon Darkness and walk into the sustainable,
renewable Light.
