Hello Haggis

I've been reading your book somewhat half-heartedly, and making rather slow progress. Reading this morning as I came to work on the train (team p*ss-up later) and about 200 pages in, I got to the section dealing with PROMIS software. Ruppert tells us that PROMIS

- runs on any system from mega-mainframe to network of desktops
- translates any laguage to any other
- interfaces any computer system to any other
- builds a database of all commodity resources worldwide and enables the operator to easily manipulate markets thereof
- subverts the security of the international financial system by being secretly embedded in all their computer systems
- was the cause of Robert Maxwell's death because he was selling it to someone

Etc etc. Now I'm not qualified to comment on CIA drug-dealing, but I am familiar with software - I'm an internet engineer working on heavyweight financial systems. And I have to say that Ruppert's decription of PROMIS is pure fantasy.

It's just like saying "I have a special tool called a SPANR. It can rebuild the gearbox of a 1975 Reliant Robin, or double the horsepower output of a 2008 Bentley Continental, or anything in between - in 30 seconds or less. It can be bought for half a million quid but if you get, it someone will assassinate you because it's so secret".

So thanks for the lend, but I've run out of willingness to plough my way througth this book. In my view it consists of a some facts and some fantasies, all mixed together with huge dollops of self-promotion, and layer upon layer of innuendo.

PM me your address and I'll post it back to you.

Best wishes to you and all the Powerswitch North crew!

Chris

Sounds like the premise for a great scifi/action thriller!

I was in no hurry to get it back, maybe offer it someone else just for the postage. I managed about 100 pages before my eyes glazed over and I reached for the tinfoil hat...

I'm about half way through it.

There must be some truth to all the insider dealing before the 9/11 incident.

Records would prove this one way of the other.

As far as the USA is concerned I wouldn't trust anyone in authority.

Most countries for that matter.

In the same vein have a look at Jeremy Scahill's Dirty Wars.
