Against official expectations, Danish oil has peaked and is now in decline.
Thanks to Coilin Nunan for posting this on EnergyResources. Statistics for Danish oil production for the last few years can be found at: http://www.ens.dk/sw14660.asp
The statistics for the whole of 2005 are now available and show that in 2005 oil production was 21,885,889 cubic metres, versus 22,628,955 in 2004 (click on December 2005 and December 2004 for these statistics). Converting into barrels of oil per day, the figures for 2005 and 2004 were 377,187 and 388,927 respectively, ie. a decline of about 3%.
In their December 2004 document forecasting future production levels, the Danish Energy Authority had expected 2005 production to be higher than 2004, and for production to decline thereafter. See http://gammel.ens.dk/graphics/Publikationer/Olie_Gas_UK/Prognose-2004-UK.pdf or http://tinyurl.com/83vlo
However, their December 2005 update, shows oil production declining between 2005 and 2009. See http://www.ens.dk/sw29069.asp.
It seems, therefore, that Danish oil production peaked in 2004.
